An introduction to The Ambient Visitor

An introduction, to friends old and new, to the music of The Ambient Visitor, a collection of peaceful generative ambient music.

This compilation includes a taste of each album self-released under this project.

In August 2011, I set about experimenting making generative ambient music, the seed for which is this album - thelovelymoon.bandcamp.com/album/music-for-dreams - by my project The Lovely Moon. I wanted to create minimal, peaceful and beautiful music that was truly ambient: it can be background music or something you intently listen to.

The music is created generatively. Each note plays on a separate loop, each of a different length, so these pieces could, in theory, continue for a very, very long time.

In 2013, I lost interest in this project. I couldn't see what else I could do with this music. I had explored space quite enough.

But then in 2016, with new found confidence and creativity, I came back down to Earth (mostly) and the project was reborn and this time each album had an actual title and everything.

These albums are a joy to create. Thank you to everyone who has supported this project over the years and for your kind words.

There is much more to come.

Released 5 July 2018.

All music written, performed and produced by Brin Coleman at MCos, Manchester from August 2011 to May 2018.

About The Ambient Visitor

The Ambient Visitor

Deep and mysterious longform ambient music.

The music is generative:
Each note plays in a loop. The length of each loop is slightly different so while the music may vary slightly, it never quite repeats itself.

I also make music under the name Bing Satellites, The Lovely Moon, Ghost Harmonics, Kowalski Room, Ethereal Ephemera and Blocker.
